Kansas Open Records Act Statement
The Kansas Open Records Act provides in K.S.A. 45-230 that "no person shall knowingly sell, give or
receive, for the purpose of selling or offering for sale, any property or service to persons listed
therein, any list of names and addresses contained in, or derived from public records..."
Violation of this law may subject the violator to a civil penalty of $500.00 for each violation. Violators
will be reported for prosecution.

About these Maps
Subdivision Plat Maps
Are legal documents filed with the County (however these are not certified plat copies). They show surveyed boundaries,
property legal descriptions, lot restrictions, easements, rights-of-way, dedications, and covenants. Plat map scales
and page sizes vary.
Engineering Maps
Are mapped compilations of platted parcels covering one ¼-Section in area at a scale of 1”=100’, and page size of approximated
32” square. They depict subdivision block/lot boundaries, lot dimensions, rights-of-way, section and quarter-section lines,
easements, road/alley ROW vacations, and contain other useful annotations. These maps were drafted/maintained by Kansas City, KS
engineering office ca. 1930’s-1970’s. They represent useful if dated information.
Parcel Maps
Show parcel boundaries drafted on a planimetric/topographic 1/4-section mylar map base at 1”=100’ scale and page size of 33” x 36”.
They show parcel lines and parcel-ID (PIN) numbers, but no dimensions (subdivision boundaries are indicated, but no lot or block
numbers are shown). Situs property addresses are included (or vacant addresses if no addressable structure is present). Topographic
information includes contours at 2 ft intervals and 10 ft index contours. Plan detail includes building footprints, road curb lines,
fences, walls, parking lots and driveways, and power poles. Parcel maps are maintained by GeoSpatial Services staff and parcel
information is kept current. Plan/topo features currency varies widely based on last update of original mylar manuscripts. Some map
detail may date back to the 1970’s. Property lines on these maps are for reference only and are not survey accurate.
